Prototyping Shop and Maker Space

214 Innovation and Development LLC (214ID) operates Shepherd Works, a well-equipped prototyping, app development and maker facility designed to support physical innovation, applied engineering, and early-stage production. The facility can be used to develop functional prototypes and execute limited small-batch production runs for technology and engineering-driven projects.

Shepherd Works is the build side of 214ID. Prototypes, software products, and the occasional integrated system that needs both. Most of the work is for existing 214ID clients or internal 214ID IP projects. We take on a few one-off build engagements when the project is interesting and the fit is right.

Prototyping and Small-Scale Production Capability

The Shepherd Works facility is only available as an extension of existing 214ID projects. Shepherd Works is not available for independent engagement outside of 214ID services. It is configured to support:

• Functional prototyping

• One of one creation

• Limited low-volume production

Occasional Startup Residency

Since 2019, the 214ID Maker Space at Shepherd Works has periodically housed third-party startup companies operating within the technology sector. Residencies are offered very selectively and are aligned with 214ID’s focus on engineering-driven companies.
