214ID Executive AI Fluency App Support
Everything you need to get the most out of 214ID Executive AI Fluency.
Getting Started
What is 214ID Executive AI Fluency?
214ID Executive AI Fluency is a coaching app for senior leaders who need to build practical, working AI fluency. It helps you refine the prompts you send to AI tools, build understanding of how AI actually works through short lessons, and keep a signed record of every AI interaction the app makes on your behalf.
The app is not a general-purpose AI assistant. It is a structured practice environment designed around the kind of work senior leaders actually do: strategic decisions, board communication, vendor assessment, competitive analysis, and governance.
Who is this app for?
The app is built for senior leaders: executives, directors, partners, and senior managers who are increasingly accountable for AI use in their organizations but who have limited time and need practical fluency rather than abstract theory. You do not need a technical background.
How do I sign in?
The app uses Sign in with Apple. Tap the Sign In button on the welcome screen and authenticate with your Apple ID. No separate username or password is required. Your Apple ID is never shared with 214ID beyond the anonymized identifier Apple provides.
Do I need to set up a profile?
You will be prompted to enter your role, title, and organization after signing in for the first time. This information calibrates the feedback the Prompt Refinery gives you. You can update your profile at any time by tapping the 214 logo in the top-right corner of any screen and selecting Your Profile.
What is the 214 logo button in the top corner?
That button opens the app overview menu, which gives you access to your profile, the Tips screen, Settings, and About. Think of it as the app's home base for account and information.
The Prompt Refinery
What does the Prompt Refinery do?
The Prompt Refinery analyzes the prompt you plan to send to an AI tool and gives you structured feedback on how to improve it. It then generates a refined version of your prompt that is ready to copy and send to any AI tool. The refinery improves the question itself, not the final answer.
How do I use it?
- Tap Prompts in the navigation bar.
- Type or paste the prompt you want to refine, or start from a template.
- Optionally attach a document the AI will need to reference.
- Tap Refine Prompt and wait a few seconds for your analysis.
What can I use it for?
The Prompt Refinery works for any task you would delegate to an AI tool. Common executive use cases include:
- Drafting a strategic decision memo
- Preparing board communication
- Summarizing a document or report
- Assessing a vendor or partner
- Preparing for a high-stakes meeting
- Evaluating an argument or proposal
- Stress-testing a decision or recommendation
What are tokens?
Tokens are the unit that AI models use to measure and process text. One token is roughly three to four characters of English text, or about three quarters of a word. A one-page document is approximately 500 tokens. Tap the token count shown below your prompt to open a full explanation of how tokens work and why they matter.
Is there a limit to how many times I can use the Prompt Refinery?
No. Your subscription gives you unlimited access to the Prompt Refinery with no usage caps, no token allotments, and no per-request charges.
Understanding Your Feedback
What are the six dimensions?
Every prompt is evaluated across six dimensions: the structural elements that separate a prompt an AI model can act on precisely from one it has to guess at.
Is the core request stated in plain, unambiguous language? Clarity failures produce output that answers the wrong question.
Does the prompt give the model enough background to do the work in your specific situation? Without context, the model defaults to generic.
Does the prompt specify who the output is for? The model needs the audience to calibrate tone, vocabulary, and level of detail.
Does the prompt specify what the model should not do, what format to avoid, or what length to stay within?
Does the prompt specify exactly what the output should look like? Format, structure, and length all shape how useful the result is.
Does the prompt tell the model what a good response looks like? This is the dimension most executives miss.
What do Strong, Adequate, Weak, and Missing mean?
What is Application Guidance?
Application Guidance appears on the Refined Prompt tab. It tells you three things:
- Model Tier recommends which class of AI model to use (Frontier, Balanced, or Fast) based on the complexity of your task.
- Expected Output Shape describes what you should expect to receive, so you know whether the output will match your need before you send the prompt.
- Known Risks flags anything in the prompt or task type that is likely to produce confident-sounding but unreliable output.
The Refined Prompt
What is the Refined Prompt?
The Refined Prompt is a rewritten version of your original prompt that addresses every weak or missing dimension identified in the assessment. It is ready to copy and send directly to any AI tool: Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot, or any other.
How do I use it?
Tap Copy to copy the full text to your clipboard, then paste it into whatever AI tool you use. You can also tap Apply and Refine Again to load the refined prompt back into the Prompt Refinery for a second round of refinement.
Why would I refine a prompt more than once?
Each round of refinement works on the prompt as it currently stands. After the first refinement, you may want to add more specific context or adjust the output format based on what you learned from the feedback. A second round on an improved prompt often produces a meaningfully better result.
What does "Why These Changes" explain?
The rationale section below the Refined Prompt explains exactly what was added or changed and why. This is where you build understanding, not just a better prompt. Reading the rationale across several different prompts makes the pattern of what works intuitive over time.
Can I save the Refined Prompt as a template?
Yes. On the Refined Prompt tab, tap Save as Template. The prompt will be saved to your Templates library with the task type pre-filled. You can name it, add tags, and organize it into a collection.
Attaching Documents
Can I attach a document to my prompt?
Yes. Tap Attach below the prompt field to select a file from your device. The document is sent along with your prompt to give the AI the context it needs to analyze or summarize it.
What file types are supported?
The app supports PDF files and plain text documents. For best results, use text-based PDFs rather than scanned images. Scanned documents without embedded text cannot be read by the AI.
Is my document stored?
No. Documents are sent to the 214ID analysis service as part of your refinement request and are not retained on the server beyond the duration of that request. A label showing the document name is saved locally if you choose to save the result, but the document itself is not stored.
Templates
What are Templates?
Templates are pre-written prompt structures for common executive tasks. They are starting points, not finished prompts. Each template includes placeholder fields you replace with your specific details before refining.
What Starter Templates are included?
- Strategic Decision Memo — Frame a decision for a specific audience with a clear recommendation.
- Board Communication Draft — Board updates that require a specific action or vote.
- Competitive Position Summary — Understand where you stand relative to a competitor or alternative.
- Briefing Prep for a High-Stakes Meeting — Prepare for a meeting where the counterpart or context is specific.
- Vendor or Partner Assessment — Evaluate a vendor while keeping judgment with you, not delegated to the AI.
Can I create my own templates?
Yes. After refining a prompt, tap Save as Template on the Refined Prompt tab. You can also create a template from scratch in the Templates tab. Templates support tags and can be organized into named collections.
Lessons
What are the Lessons?
Lessons are short, written modules that build a working understanding of how AI actually behaves. They are written for senior leaders, not engineers. Each lesson is designed to be read in one sitting and draws on business contexts throughout.
What do the Lessons cover?
Lessons are organized into two tracks. The Foundations track covers the core mental model every senior leader needs:
- What AI Is and Is Not — how large language models work and the misconceptions that lead executives to misuse them.
- Delegation and Prompting — how to brief an AI model the way you would brief a trusted senior associate.
- Evaluating AI Output — how to read AI output critically and know what to trust, verify, or send back.
- Adversarial Stress Testing — how to ask AI where an argument breaks, not just whether it holds.
- Data Value Chains — where your data goes when you use AI and what to ask a vendor before you share it.
- AI Governance from the Board Seat — the questions a director should ask before AI ships in the organization's name.
The Advanced Topics track covers deeper applications for senior leaders in technical and strategic roles.
What are Interactive lessons?
Some lessons include interactive scenarios in addition to reading content. These present a realistic situation and ask you to work through a decision. The interaction is designed to build judgment, not just knowledge. Interactive scenarios require an internet connection.
How do I track my progress?
Each lesson shows its completion status: Not Started, In Progress, or Completed. The status updates automatically as you read and is saved to your account.
References
What are References?
References are downloadable PDF documents and a searchable glossary you can use alongside the lessons or share with colleagues. They are practical tools: reference cards, worksheets, and checklists.
What documents are included?
- The Six Dimensions of a Strong Prompt — A one-page reference card covering the six dimensions the Prompt Refinery evaluates.
- Managing Token Spend — Eight habits that account for most of the cost difference between executives who use AI well and those who use it expensively.
- Board Questions for AI Governance — The questions a director should ask before AI ships and the warning signs boards consistently miss.
- AI Vocabulary for Executives — A searchable glossary of 48 terms covering technical concepts, business terms, and the informal language that appears in vendor pitches and board discussions.
Can I share the documents with colleagues?
Yes. Tap the share button in the PDF viewer to share via Messages, Mail, AirDrop, or any other app on your device.
What is the AI Vocabulary Glossary?
The glossary is a searchable reference of 48 terms senior leaders encounter when working with AI vendors, reading AI policy, or participating in board discussions. It covers technical vocabulary, business terms, and the informal language that appears in vendor pitches and AI culture. Tap any term for a plain-language definition written for a business audience.
Results
What is the Results tab?
Results is your record of every prompt you have refined and chosen to save. Each entry shows your original prompt, the full structured feedback, the refined version, and the Trust Receipt documenting how the request was handled.
Are my results saved automatically?
No. You must tap Save in the top-right corner of the feedback screen to save a refinement. This is intentional: the app does not record your work without your action.
Where are my saved results stored?
Results are stored locally on your device. A copy is also saved to the 214ID server associated with your account, so your results are available if you restore your device or sign in on a new one.
What happens to my results if I cancel my subscription?
Your saved results remain accessible on your device. You can copy or export any saved result before canceling.
Trust Receipts
What is a Trust Receipt?
A Trust Receipt is a signed record of every AI interaction the app made on your behalf. It documents the date and time of the request, the AI model used, the endpoint called, the token counts, and a cryptographic signature confirming the record was produced by 214ID and has not been altered. The Trust Receipt does not contain your original prompt or document content.
Why does this matter?
As AI use becomes subject to governance, audit, and regulatory scrutiny, organizations will need to demonstrate what decisions were informed by AI, which model was used, and when. The Trust Receipt is the documentation layer that makes this possible. When you share AI-assisted analysis with a board, client, or regulator, you can show exactly how that analysis was produced.
Can I share or export a Trust Receipt?
Yes. From the Trust Receipt detail view, use the share button to export the receipt as a file. Any recipient can verify the receipt was produced by 214ID and has not been altered, because it is cryptographically signed.
How is the Trust Receipt verified?
The receipt is signed using HMAC-SHA256. If the contents are altered after signing, the signature will not match and verification will fail. A receipt that passes verification is an authentic, unmodified record of the original interaction.
Your Profile
What information is in my profile?
Your profile stores your role, title, and organization. This information calibrates the Prompt Refinery's feedback to your specific context.
Does my profile affect the feedback I receive?
Yes. The Prompt Refinery uses your role and organization as context when evaluating your prompts. The more specific your profile, the more calibrated your feedback. A prompt written by a CFO at a financial services firm will receive different guidance than the same prompt written by an executive at a manufacturing company.
How do I update my profile?
Tap the 214 logo button in the top-right corner of any screen, then tap Your Profile. You can edit your role, title, and organization at any time.
Subscription & Billing
What subscription plans are available?
Two plans are available: a Monthly plan billed each month, and an Annual plan billed once per year at a lower effective monthly rate. Current pricing is shown on the subscription screen within the app.
What does a subscription include?
Unlimited access to the Prompt Refinery, all Lessons, all References, and all Templates. There are no usage caps, no token allotments, and no per-request charges.
How do I manage or cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed through Apple. To cancel or change your plan:
- Open the Settings app on your iPhone or Mac.
- Tap your name to open your Apple ID.
- Tap Subscriptions.
- Find 214ID Executive AI Fluency and tap to manage or cancel.
Can I restore a subscription on a new device?
Yes. Sign in with the same Apple ID you used when you subscribed, then tap Restore Purchases on the subscription screen. Your active subscription will be recognized and access restored immediately.
My subscription is active but the app is asking me to subscribe. What do I do?
Tap Restore Purchases on the subscription screen. This contacts Apple and confirms your active subscription. If the issue persists, sign out of the app and sign back in using the same Apple ID you used to subscribe.
Will I be charged again if I reinstall the app?
No. Your subscription is tied to your Apple ID. Reinstalling and signing in with the same Apple ID restores your access without any additional charge.
What happens when my subscription expires?
Access to the Prompt Refinery requires an active subscription. Your saved results, templates, and lesson progress remain on your device. Renewing restores full access immediately.
Privacy & Your Data
What data does 214ID collect?
- Your profile — role, title, and organization, which you enter manually.
- Your Apple identifier — the anonymized user ID Apple provides at sign-in. Your actual Apple ID credentials are never shared with 214ID.
- Your email address — only if you choose to share it during Sign in with Apple. Optional.
- Prompt text — sent to the analysis service during refinement, not retained on the server beyond the request unless you explicitly save the result.
- Module progress — which lessons you have started and completed.
- Subscription status — whether you have an active subscription.
Is my prompt text stored on your servers?
Your prompt is sent to the 214ID analysis service to produce the feedback and refined version. It is not retained on the server beyond the request. If you tap Save, the refined prompt and feedback are saved to your account. If you do not save, no record of the prompt content is stored server-side.
Is my data used to train AI models?
No. Your prompt content and document content are not used to train any AI model, including Anthropic's Claude, which powers the Prompt Refinery.
Do you share my data with third parties?
Your data passes through three infrastructure providers: Anthropic (processes your prompt through Claude), Apple (handles authentication and subscription verification), and Cloudflare (hosts the 214ID analysis service). Your data is not sold and is not shared with any other party.
How do I delete my account?
Go to the 214 logo menu, tap Settings, then tap Delete Account. This permanently removes your profile, prompts, module progress, and all other personal data from the 214ID server. This action cannot be undone.
Where can I read the full privacy policy?
The full privacy policy is available at www.214id.com/privacy.
Technical Questions
What AI model powers the Prompt Refinery?
The Prompt Refinery uses Claude Opus, Anthropic's frontier model, pinned to a specific version to ensure consistent behavior. The Trust Receipt for every refinement records the exact model used.
Does the app work on Mac?
Yes. The app runs natively on Mac and is available from the Mac App Store. The full feature set is available on Mac, with a sidebar navigation layout optimized for larger screens.
Does the app require an internet connection?
The Prompt Refinery and interactive lesson scenarios require an internet connection. Lesson reading content, Reference documents, saved Results, and Templates are available offline once loaded.
Why is processing taking longer than expected?
The Prompt Refinery uses a frontier AI model that performs deep analysis on your prompt. Processing typically takes 10 to 30 seconds. If a request takes longer, it may indicate high server load. The app will continue waiting and will show the result when it is ready.
The app shows an error after I tap Refine Prompt. What do I do?
- No internet connection — Check that your device is connected and try again.
- Session expired — Sign out and sign back in using Sign in with Apple.
- Subscription not recognized — Tap Restore Purchases on the subscription screen.
If the error persists, contact hello@214id.com with a brief description of what happened and your device model.
