Governance and Management Advisory
Governance and Management Advisory Services
214 Innovation and Development LLC (214ID) provides organizational leadership, corporate governance, and management consulting services to privately held technology and engineering companies, nonprofit organizations, and economic development entities. Engagements focus on governance design, board formation, executive alignment, and leadership structuring for companies navigating growth, transition, and liquidity planning.
214ID maintains a specific strategic focus on privately held technology and engineering companies in the $50 million to $150 million annual revenue range, where governance maturity, executive structure, and board effectiveness are often the primary constraints on sustainable growth, capital access, and ownership transitions.
In addition to direct advisory leadership, 214ID operates with a nationwide network of senior experts across technology, research, engineering, regulatory, and commercialization disciplines. These experts are engaged selectively on an as-needed basis to support client needs without introducing overhead or bloated consulting teams. This allows clients to access deep domain expertise precisely when it is required.
214ID routinely advises founders, boards, and investors on:
Board and advisory board formation and restructuring
Corporate governance architecture and committee design
Executive alignment and leadership structure design
Founder-to-board transition planning
Governance modernization for growth-stage companies
Liquidity preparation for ESOPs, recapitalization, or sale
Matt Sanfilippo brings over 25 years of experience serving in C-suite and board roles across for-profit and not-for-profit organizations. He also served on the Independent Transaction Committee during the successful conversion of a privately held company into a 100 percent ESOP.
In addition to governance roles, Matt has served as Chief Operating Officer, Chief Information Officer, Chief Partnership Officer, and Executive Director in both large institutions and entrepreneurial organizations.
